    I had a canvas made from a photo of my niece for my 73 year old mother. She had a stroke 2 years ago so I wanted to get her something that would enhance her dexterity. At first it looked intimidating, (it might have been because of the photo I chose), but once we started we became addicted. It’s a great way to spend time with each other. Even my daughter does it with us. It comes with good quality acrylic paints and decent brushes. I definitely plan to buy more.

    Been working on the painting for a couple of weeks. Finally bought a magnifying glass to see, it’s so tiny. Annoyed at how easy it is to miss colours over and over. Also paint over number. All in all I an enjoying it. Hope if looks half decent when finished.

    I was so excited to receive this canvas and get started. It’s my first experience with this type of kit so needed to get suggestions from the company regarding how to get the wrinkles out before starting. The company support responses were prompt and helpful. I followed the suggestion regarding purchasing a frame and dealing with the wrinkles. However, I tried several times to stretch the canvas for a tight fit but could not get it to fit without a few gathers along the sides. After many unsuccessful attempts I had to resort to calling Hobby Lobby who can stretch it for me but at a cost of $80 (since it is a rather large piece) and it won’t be ready for 2 weeks. So disappointed that I have to wait now and also incur the expense of the canvas stretching. Possibly my expectations were a little high since I assumed the “kit” would be inclusive. Had I known this in advance I would have started with a smaller piece for my first try. I love the design and am just hopeful that it will be worth the wait and the extra expense.

    Once I started it was hard to stop. My only comment is some of the numbers are pretty tiny. I’m not quite finished but it is lots of fun to see the picture come together.
    Highly recommend. I just read some of the other reveiws and will buy better brushes and take a photo to better read the numbers.

    I finally started this paint by number. It won’t be finished for quite some time. I will gladly show my finsished results. As for the kit itself, so far all the paints are going very smoothly on the canvass. It is not on cardboard but a rolled up canvass. I will have to get a backing for it once I am finsihed. There is no clolor mixing but to blend the colors of the sky I add a little water and blend them so it doesn’t look like lines between the sky and the clowds. Can’t wait to see the finsihed results.

    I love how this takes me back to my childhood days of painting by numbers. The beautiful images and detailed painting areas provides hours of enjoyment. For me, the only downside is that there are many tiny areas to paint and even the smallest brush included frays and isn’t good enough to get to those small areas.

    Painting a likeness of a masterpiece opens up so much about the original painter’s thought process, their focus, their goals and their ideas about color and how much it can do. I learned a ton by painting this Van Gogh piece so far (I’m almost finished!), and I can already tell it’s going to make a lovely addition to my decor when it’s complete!

    The item printed fast and was put in the mail fast but took almost two months to actually get the item. I’m not happy with the faces and I had to change the colouring of the teeth and eyes. Not something I would recommend for a beginner. The faces are too choppy for my taste. A little Andy Worhallish to me. Maybe a pet would look better or something that doesn’t have as much detail as I had.

Paintbrushes are included which are standard (very small details can be difficult to do) but the painting is beautiful. This is my first time buying a paint by numbers and its been a good relaxing project.

    I am an artist and was just curious as to what this would be like as many I speak to want to paint, but don’t want to “learn” how to paint. This product is good quality and would be great for someone to do who has lots of time and a place to put it while working on it. Not a “do in a day” painting… will take a very long time which is great for many people as they will have something fun to do. My only suggestion would be to go and get some higher quality brushes.     I’m about half way done and it’s looking amazing! I did one of me and my brothers for my mom about 20 years ago and I’m doing a new one from a newer pic of us standing in the same spots. My only complaint is you can’t read some of the numbers on the really tiny spaces. I would recommend you guys send a larger paper copy where the numbers are more visible. Other than that, I’m very pleased!

    I have thoroughly enjoyed doing this little project. I did buy myself a few better quality brushes in order to work on the intricate portions of the painting. It is the biggest bang for the $$ – spent several hours enjoying myself. Nice thing is it can be taken with me if I were to do a paint night with friends (it’s portable). I have a nice bright reading light I use to help me see details at night. Gunna buy more!!

    I really want to love this painting kit. I have high hopes that it will turn out well. I am very disappointed that with 2 of the main paint colors I need arrived with little pots that were almost empty, while others are filled to the top. It’s causing me anxiety now, have to go and try to “paint match” the colors at local craft store. Also, a few of the numbers are missing in the paint area, so do not know what color to use. On the up side, it is a nice kit and I am finding it to be relaxing after a long work day. 🙂 I would give more stars if there was enough paint and could see the numbers on all of the paint areas.

    Painted because I had such fond memories of going down the canal in 1993. Talk about eye strain and had to go over it to make it look ok. Ran out of couple colors so had to improvise. Had a hard time covering some of the numbers. All in all, looks great from a distance, fun project, and framed and hanging in bathroom.

    I really enjoyed doing this painting. It was my first adult paint by numbers. I did run out of #2 and #4 though. I had to buy some craft paint at Hobby Lobby to finish. I wish the “purple” had actually been purple like the description picture shows, it all looks black on my painting. Other reviews show purple so I guess it’s hit or miss if they send the correct colors. 🙁
    Took me 46 hours to complete total over a few weeks. Next one is the Paris street scene.

    The numbers were printed lightly and were tiny to start, which made them harder to see without very bright lighting and a magnifying glass. It was so hard seeing some of the numbers that I ended up giving up. My daughter ended up using paints I bought and painted it the way she wanted.

    My partner bought this for me a year ago. She noticed I was interested because a friend was doing a paint by numbers.
    Finally I started it and was hooked. Started around 9pm and looked up and it was 1am. Very addicting, but in a good way. Peaceful, calming and interesting. And yes, the tiny numbers are a challenge even with a magnifying glass.
    Even after a year, only 1 of the paints were too thick and after mixing it, it was fine.
    I did run out of one of the colors, it’s the color that uses the most paint. Today, I contacted the company by email asking if I
    could get another container of that color from them. Anxiously awaiting their reply, because I am done after that.
    I am now looking for another painting to do. And curious about the one’s you can send in a photo.

    I’m about half way done and it’s looking amazing! I did one of me and my brothers for my mom about 20 years ago and I’m doing a new one from a newer pic of us standing in the same spots. My only complaint is you can’t read some of the numbers on the really tiny spaces. I would recommend you guys send a larger paper copy where the numbers are more visible. Other than that, I’m very pleased!

    I have thoroughly enjoyed doing this little project. I did buy myself a few better quality brushes in order to work on the intricate portions of the painting. It is the biggest bang for the $$ – spent several hours enjoying myself. Nice thing is it can be taken with me if I were to do a paint night with friends (it’s portable). I have a nice bright reading light I use to help me see details at night. Gunna buy more!!

    I haven’t started painting this yet, but I felt that I got a good price for a picture that I liked. I had looked online & in the store & none of them had pictures that I would hang in my house. So, hopefully this one will turn out well. The only thing that surprised me was that the canvas was rolled up & there was no backing. I am not sure what you are supposed to use in order to support it while you are painting.

    It has been a very long time since I embarked on a paint by number project. Recovering from Cancer surgery, I wanted a DECENT QUALITY scene that I could spend my idle hours with. I found it on this site. I was most pleased with the quality of the canvas, and the condition the item arrived even though it was sent from China. The ONLY thing negative I could point out was the length of time it took to arrive. Otherwise, I am completely satisfied, and will likely purchase another soon.

    Working on the Crayon Cat right now which is really hard but fun because of the colors. I ordered an additional 5 more so I have lots of painting projects for the years to come.
